The Violin Maker, a historical mystery inspired by a real instrument, will be published in October, 2026 by Koehler Books!

There are so many people who helped the book get to this point. I am so thankful for the ongoing support of family, friends, colleagues and mentors who have made the book what it is, and I can't wait to work with the talented team at Koehler to get it ready for publication!

When I imagined being offered a publishing deal, I visualized a single euphoric moment, a sense of accomplishment and an immediate celebration. Like so many of the expectations we set in life, the reality was somewhat different, though the feelings of euphoria are there! Life, alas, continues unabated, regardless of what is happening with your writing career. I came down with a cold immediately after getting the call. My husband was also sick, and our younger daughter fell and broke her elbow that same week. This all coincided, naturally, with the busiest time of year at my job managing the rental workshop at Stamell Strings, and the start of a new yoga teaching semester. Before I knew it, two weeks had passed, the contract was signed, and the moment to celebrate felt like it had passed me by.

And of course, as I reflected on these feelings, I realized how silly they were. The next year is going to be one wild ride, with many celebratory moments sprinkled throughout! Thank you for being here to join me on this marathon of joy. I am looking forward to sharing insights about the process and exciting updates about the book as production gets underway. Onward!

Now, the real work begins.
